Atelophobia is defined as the fear of not doing something good enough or the fear of not being good enough, which essentially refers to the fear of imperfection. Atelo in Greek means imperfection.
Benefits of Imperfection
God does not intend to make anyone perfect. God expects us to support each other and rely on each other. The mission of life is not becoming perfect, but to be more generous, compassionate, kind, and loving. To be someone perfect sounds exhausting. Thankfully, there’s a positive side to all bad news and shortcomings.
# Flaws and life troubles help people relate to you.
It takes courage and confidence to share big mistakes and big regrets in life. Generally, people open up and share their life troubles as you start sharing yours. Imperfections make you real, humane and more authentic. Do not try hard to hide your imperfections and life will get easier.
Everyone experiences frustration and loss in life. As for me, I tend to adore those who have been through something tough in life. Also, I feel less lonely as I get to know that I am not the only person who has experienced traumatic events in life. As we encounter something harsh, we would like to talk to someone who has similar experiences. It’s common that we feel comfortable to share our vulnerabilities with those who are being open-minded with their life struggles.
#We learn from mistakes. We fall and we grow.
As we try new things, we should not expect ourselves to perform perfectly. Life is trying and improving our weakness. We fall and we grow. Trauma only exists when we learn to devalue ourselves due to the wickedness of the world
#We only witness unconditional love in the hard times.
It’s perfectly good to know that someone loves us the same even though we made foolish mistakes and dumb decisions in life. The hard times in life give us the golden chance to witness unconditional love.

# The idea of “good enough”
It’s good to push ourselves to be a better me, but maybe it’s not a good idea to strive for perfection on all sides. Many celebrities suffer from low self-esteem and depression. Countless people suffer from mild depression for being overly aware of their deficiency or imperfection.
Bottom Line
Inadequacies teach us to be humble and compassionate. Nobody’s life goes smoothly all the time. We fall and we grow. A strong inner self means that you do not try hard to hide your flaws, vulnerabilities or troublesome past. Without sharing, we can’t build true intimacy and connections in relationships. Foolish mistakes give us something to laugh about or joke around.
