The findings were published by the American Society for Microbiology March 13 in the Journal of Medical Virology, according to the Chiayi hospital.

 

The research team found that theaflavin, a polyphenolic compound in black tea, shows broad‐spectrum antiviral activity against several viruses and could be used as a lead compound for the development of a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV-2) inhibitor that targets an enzyme known as RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp).

It also suggested that chicken parts with lower heme-iron contents such as breast meat could be healthier. Readers don’t need to remove meat from the diet but reduce the daily intake of red meat and substitute red meat with fish/shellfish, or plant-based protein food and dairy products.

Onions contain quercetin, which has the same effect as the hypoglycemic drug “tolubutamide” and that’s why onions helps maintain normal sugar metabolism. Since onions contains trace element selenium, it helps fight  against cancer.

It is recommended not to add soy sauce but salt when making onion dishes, because most soy sauce contains sugar.

Tomatoes are loaded with potassium, vitamin C and lycopene. Lycopene helps reduce risk of heart disease and prevent macular degeneration too. Tomatoes are not high in sugar, and neither are carrots.Tomatoes are an excellent source of B vitamins, like folate, coupled with vitamins A, C, E and K. Viatmin B helps control our mood and emotion. 

 

#Celery

celery has low calories,  providing only 16 calories per cup (101 grams). Celery contains antioxidants called flavones, which have been studied for their role in lowering blood sugar levels.Celery is high in fiber, which may be helpful to help keep your blood glucose levels under control.

 

Flammulina velutipes

Flammulina velutipes is rich in potassium and zinc. Potassium helps control the rise of blood sugar. Zinc helps increase the ability of proinsulin to be converted into insulin and improves the body’s use of glucose.

 

Ginger
